GUNBLR seems to have a big hard on for cut down Russian weapons… but what about the Enfield that was used in the Underground War during WW1 !!
Both sides would listen for digging sounds and counter sap enemy tunnels trying to collapse them and bury their foes. Sometimes they would break into opposing tunnels and the sappers (British and Commonwealth) and pioneers (Germans) would engage in fighting using spades, knives, picks and firearms.
Due to the close quarters rifles were cut down like this British made Lee-Enfield* to allow them more flexibility. The Messines Ridge Battle Area (near Ypres) site is where one of the most successful mine attacks during the war occurred when the British detonated 19 mines on June 7th, 1917.
